The role of the Education Fund is defined in the Adult Education Act. According to this the Fund's objective is to promote suitable study options for adults with limited formal education. General information. Ministry of Education has adopted a two-fold approach to provide education and training inside and outside the classroom. Consequently, policies and procedures are separated into young generation education and adult education groups. The Division of Adult Education and Literacy (DAEL) administers programs that help adults get the basic skills they need including reading, writing, math, English language proficiency, and problem-solving to be productive workers, family members, and citizens.. Adult education, distinct from child education, is a practice in which adults engage in systematic and sustained self-educating activities in order to gain new forms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, or values. It can mean any form of learning adults engage in beyond traditional schooling, encompassing basic literacy to personal fulfillment as a lifelong learner. Adult Education aims at extending educational options to those adults, who have lost the opportunity and have crossed the age of formal education, but now feel a need for learning of any type, including literacy, basic education, skill development (Vocational Education) and equivalency.
