I hired a painting company to paint my house and garage. Price was about $5,000.Sherwin Williams paint T-1000. When he was questioned about the paint peeling two days after he painted the garage he quit even with a contract not a very professional person. So,now I have to find someone else to paint my house. After 3 weeks of them trying to paint around the rain. The original time frame was 3-4 days.Yes 3 weeks and all that got done was a small two car garage that could have been done in two days.I know he did not prep correctly and properly I will end up having to redo the garage. I went to Sherwin Williams and got the colors. So beware even with a contract and good references.
I hired Nielson 6-7 years ago to paint my chimney he painted it and replace a couple of rotten boards. Other painters were going to paint right over the bad wood. This past year I had him paint the entire exterior of my house. The work was done on time and to my satisfaction. When I am able, I will ask him to paint the interior of my house as well as some remodeling work. I highly recommend Nielson Painting and Remodeling. Broomfield Home Painting
Your homeowner’s association might limit you as to how unique you can be with your exterior paint choices. Check with them first to make sure you don’t have to redo your hot-pink-plus-unicorns murals. It can help to drive around your neighborhood to see what your neighbors have chosen and come up with a color scheme that fits in. If you’re not sure, stores can give you small cans of paint so you can paint patches of color in discrete parts of the exterior to see how they look before purchase. House Painter Broomfield Colorado
A gallon of paint costs $15 to $40 and covers about 350 square feet with one coat. Designer varieties can run over $100 per gallon. Your contractor pays 50 percent less than what it runs in a home improvement store. You’ll also need to spend another $20 to $100 on supplies like brushes, rollers, masking paper and plastic. A professional will have these items on-hand. Broomfield Home Painting
Power washing – $0.42–$1.40/sq. ft.. You might think you can save some money by power washing the exterior yourself, but homeowners can get a bit trigger-happy with a power washer in their hands. The pressure from the washer can take them unawares, breaking windows, leaking water into window frames and siding joints, and gouging wood. It’s probably wiser to use a hose and scrubbing brush. Rinse off any cleaning solutions thoroughly.
I give Jon Wright Industries 5 stars! We had an excellent experience working with Ken Dunn, the project manager. He made what is normally an overwhelming process very smooth and simple, providing guidance along the way, answering all of our questions. He educated us about roof installation, ventilation and how the insurance process works. He is extremely knowledgable. We really appreciated his attention to detail as he evaluated our roof and ventilation very thoroughly. He made recommendations for adding soffits and intake vents to improve our attic ventilation and get it up to code, while also negotiating with our insurance adjuster to cover the costs to bring the ventilation up to code. Ken handled all of the negotiations with the insurance company! Our roof looks a million times better and we are confident that it will not leak again because of their supurb workmanship. Jon Wright Industries also fixed other damage that was done, including retexturing and painting our master bedroom ceilling as well as fixing our damaged fascia. They did an amazing job! Ken and his crew came out exactly on the day and time that he promised and they cleaned everything up perfectly. Ken was in constant communication and was always available when we needed him. We are very satisfied with the service we recieved and highly recommend Ken Dunn at Jon Wright Industries! We will always use him for our roofing needs, and recommend him to all our friends and family.

While you may choose to paint a door, ground-level window trim and other parts of your house’s exterior, it’s really a job best left to the professionals. One of the main reasons is experience. An experienced painter knows how to handle the prep work, spot problems and identify sources of future trouble, all while getting the job done more efficiently. They are also experienced with spending long hours on tall ladders. If you want high-quality work, it’s best to hire a professional painter near you.
The most commonly requested painting jobs are exterior and interior home painting, but professional house painters have a lot to offer your home. Faux finishes, texturing, and mural or trompe loeil are all decorative painting techniques Dallas home painters specialize in and that you may not be able to pull off yourself. The materials and expertise of faux finishes make these projects a little more expensive, the detail work of texturing and prep work cause these projects to take a little longer. That said, these painting techniques bring an incredible look to your walls and your home décor, in general. Especially if you're going to hire a painter to paint the interior of your home, anyway, you might inquire about doing one room, such as the living room or dining room, with an extra touch. Prep work should include removing all loose paint, either with a pressure washer or by scraping; removing any trace of mildew using bleach and water or a commercial solution, and sealing or covering dark stains; caulking all seams, corners and around windows or trim; applying epoxy filler to repair serious woodwork problems; covering dark stains; sanding all rough surfaces, and priming the bare wood with a bonding primer.
When you're getting quotes for how much to paint a house, you might also want to consider the roof. Expect to pay in the region of $2,800 to $4,500 for roof painting, assuming a 3 bedroom home with a metal, tile or terracotta surface. The existing condition of your roof will play a big part in the final cost. Roof repairs like repointing will add to the final roof painting cost. Broomfield Home Painting
The easy-to-use painting tool lets you find the color that best suits the room in your house for free. Now, you do not have to waste any more paint with this app. Select the photo from your gallery or you can choose from the available ones on the site. Whether you decide to do the preparation work yourself or have a professional do it as part of your project, proper preparation makes all the difference in creating a smooth and lasting finish. Do it correctly the first time or you’ll quickly end up spending more to fix peeling and chipping paint. Follow this process before starting on your home's exterior. Keep in mind that the process may vary based on your siding materials:

We first used Paul for painting our complete home interior ten years ago when we found him on Angie's List. He did such a good job that we subsequently used him for exterior painting, cabinet resurfacing and more interior painting. His company has grown to include more services and we will certainly be using him more often as our needs change and as our home ages. We heartily recommend Paul! Home Painters Broomfield CO
Even if painters have workers’ compensation insurance—which, once again, they absolutely should—the last thing you want is to have a painter get injured on your property. To mitigate that risk, professional painters are expected to wear safety equipment such as goggles, gloves, coveralls, and other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's body from injury or infection. A single gallon of paint can run anywhere from $20 to $80 per gallon. Professionals get a contractor discount of anywhere from 25 to 50 percent. For rough siding, like stucco, you’ll need to use 10% to 20% more paint. Some textures, like wood and stucco, require extra paint because they have more surface to cover in a tiny area compared to smooth siding. Use the highest quality exterior paint your budget will allow for your project. It will look the nicest and save you money by offering better coverage and durability. Better coverage means fewer coats and fewer work hours. You’ll also go a few years longer without needing to shell out more cash for a new coat. How do you know how much paint you're paying for? Here's some helpful math:
House painting might seem like a pretty simple job, until you give it a try yourself. There is more to it that than meets the eye. There are different surfaces, paints and materials to consider, all of which have a real impact on your final finish. Any painter will tell you that getting surfaces properly prepared for that first coat can be more important than anything else. Broomfield House Painting
We needed to update the kitchen. Included were: Kitchen and Breakfast nook flooring Replace tile counter tops with quartz Replace backsplash paint Pull out old original 18" electric oven that didn't work and replace it with an appliance garage Add extra door to deep cabinet so I can get to it. Tim and crew were great. After being burnt by another contractor, we were very careful this time on doing due diligence. We emphasized that while delays can happen, there is no excuse for lack of communication. Tim did a great job of keeping us informed. We did have one week long delay from the painters but that can happen. There were some quality issues with the tile but Tim saw to it that all was resolved and the kitchen looks great.

Some siding on older homes might need so much repair that it is more cost-effective to replace the siding rather than repair it all and then paint over it. Expect to pay between $1,550 and $3,050 for the removal and disposal of old siding and $4,000 to $14,000 for new siding and installation. Expect to pay more if the wood underneath is wet and rotten and needs structural repair work.

Your contractor will sweep or scrub the concrete first with a dry brush, and then clean it thoroughly with trisodium phosphate (TSP) and warm water, then let it dry. TSP is a mostly alkaline solution that does a great job cleaning grease and oil off concrete surfaces. Brush painting concrete siding costs $138 per 100 sq. ft., roll painting costs $50 per 100 sq. ft., and spray painting $32 per 100 sq. ft.
Tipping house painters is good etiquette. You can base the tip on the size of the crew, and request the amount to be evenly divided. Or, you can leave a tip based on the size of the job and leave it up to the foreman to decide how it is distributed among the crew. Sometimes — especially with big projects — the painters on the job change during the course of the project, so it’s often customary to leave one tip for the whole job. Broomfield Home Painting

A professional painter can help you get the right finish on a whole range of projects around the home. You might be looking for a house painting cost estimation for both the interior and exteriors, including painting or repainting your interiors and repainting the outside of your home every five years or so to keep it in good condition (more frequently if you live near the coast).

It’ll cost you between $500 and $1,000 to paint the exterior yourself. Not including paint, it’ll cost you no more than $200 to $300 at a home improvement store like Home Depot, Lowes or Menards. You may end up spending more if you buy high-quality products from specialized shops. Professionals can get the same supplies for about half what you’ll pay. Broomfield Home Painting
Many painting companies hire subcontractors (also called day laborers) instead of having their own full-time staff. Allowing subcontractors into your home, though, creates a number of risks. Background checks are often not performed on subcontractors. Many subcontracted painters work on flat—not hourly—wages, meaning they may not be as committed to doing the work efficiently as a full-time crew would. And, if any subcontractors go unpaid (say, by a careless or dishonest painting company), they can file a mechanic’s lien against your property, potentially require you to shell out extra money to pay for their services.
Interior and exterior paints need to stand up to entirely different menaces. Paint on the interior of your home will need to be cleaned or even scrubbed, while exterior paints need to be weather and sun-damage resistant. Both exterior and interior paints are a combination of pigment, solvent, resins, and additives. The solvent in paint keeps it liquid and spreadable until it dries on your wall or trim. Latex paint dries more quickly because its solvent is water, while the solvent in oil-based paints is mineral spirits, which takes more time to evaporate. Once the paint is applied, the solvent evaporates, and the resin allows the paint to adhere to the surface. Various additives in paint give it desirable characteristics, like moisture and scrub resistance. Home Painters Broomfield CO
You’ll spend between $500 and $3,000 or $1 to $3.50 per square foot to paint concrete. However, expect to pay $2 to $7 per square foot since concrete almost always needs a coat of primer first. Double that price if the concrete requires stripping. Concrete is porous. Sealing it not only helps blend foundations and walls with your home’s aesthetic, but also seals it against water. Repairing or resurfacing concrete costs $300 to $500 for every 100 square feet.
Painting exterior windows depend on the size of the window and the number of panes. To calculate the price for windows larger than 15 sq. ft., add 1’ to each side of the window and then multiply width x length. Add two sq. ft. for each window pane for painting the mullions, muntins, and sash and then multiply your total sq. ft. by $84/100 sq. ft. So a 4’ x 4’ window with 4 panes will come to a total of 44 sq. ft. x $84/100 sq. ft. = $37. Home Painters Broomfield CO
Typically, your painter will charge you an additional $300 per room for preparations tasks such as wallpaper removal. Pressure washing the exterior of a standard single-story home will cost you around $275. Cleaning a smoke-stained ceiling can cost you another $100. You may be able to save some money if you do some preparation tasks yourself, such as moving furniture away from the wall, removing pictures etc. Professional painters usually charge around $100 per room if there is a lot of furniture to be removed.

I had Philips paint the exterior of my home a while back. I was so happy with the work they did I had them come back to give me a quote for painting my decorative metal fence. I accepted their bid and they did a fantastic job. The prepped the surface, primed and then hand applied an alkyd enamel rust resistant high gloss paint. The fence looks fantastic (I'm sure my neighbors are happy too). I highly recommend Philips Painting.
Painters usually find it hard to estimate the cost of prep work accurately. This is because the amount of work required varies greatly from job to job. The more the damage, the greater the amount of prep work required and hence, greater the cost. Dirty walls covered with grease have to be thoroughly cleaned for the new paint to adhere properly. Wood surfaces should be sanded 5 along the grain and dusted clean ($1.80 per square foot). Any cracks and holes in the drywall will also have to have to be repaired ($1.50 to $3.00 per square foot). Mary was very helpful when it came to redesigning my hallway bathroom. She had a no-pressure approach and was extremely patient with all my indecisiveness. She helped me narrow down my choices until I was comfortable with my decisions. Robert and Michael came out to demo the bathroom. I was impressed how they kept the mess to a minimum and cleaned up each evening before they left. They were super friendly and hard working. A few days later Lenny came out with the most beautiful custom cabinetry. I was so happy with the progress at this point, I called Mary and told her I was ready to re-design the master bath too. Robert did a fantastic job installing the showers and vanity tops. I recognized then that Robert was not a contractor, but rather a craftsman who takes great pride in his work. Robert made sure things were done right. I was extremely happy with Mary and Robert’s service and the final product that I highly recommend them to anyone who plans to remodel a bathroom!
