I have a wire fence with wood posts every four feet. A guy I know painted it. It took 4 gallons of stain but he can’t figure what to charge. I want to be fair, so any clue to a fair price? if I provided all materials stain and equipment and he did pressure wash the fence to prep it after 3 days he was half done, so on Sunday I was off work and painted the other half in 6 hrs using half of the 4 gallons. IF you want to have textured walls or ceilings, expect to pay at least 50% more for the job per square foot: $6-7.5 per sq.ft. Interior paint really varies in price and quality. Cheap paint by brands like Valspar can cost as little as $20-30 per gallon for flat/matte paint. High-end brands, such as Farrow and Ball, that have very high quality pigments that don't fade overtime as well as unique colors can cost as much as $100-120 per gallon. Hey so my boss and i just finished tearing the inside of an old. Barn apart and framing it into a 2 bed 1.5 bath plus an office. Sq ft is about 2300. Dry wall was just installed and textured and now its on me to paint and prime ceilings, walls and trim. Paint is paid for and supplies are paid for by my boss to help me out. If less than half the old paint is left, however, it may be worth stripping it all off. The truth is that there are a lot of things that can go wrong with a sloppy painting job and the crappy results will be instantly visible. Prepping the ceiling and walls as well as carefully repairing any damages is 50% of a successful job. However, cheap painters typically rush through this part of the project.
