I have a wire fence with wood posts every four feet. A guy I know painted it. It took 4 gallons of stain but he can’t figure what to charge. I want to be fair, so any clue to a fair price? if I provided all materials stain and equipment and he did pressure wash the fence to prep it after 3 days he was half done, so on Sunday I was off work and painted the other half in 6 hrs using half of the 4 gallons. So I tend to bid low and some of the quotes i have read from your posts seemed high, but I am interested in what you would bid and I am on board to give that bid to My client. I’ve got approx 1,500 sq ft house to paint. All trim is stained wood with poly, trim is to be sanded, primed n painted gloss white with 12 interior doors. 4 inch crown as well throughout. Hi there..iam bidding an exterior garage to paint..24 ft x 20 ft length walls..10-12 ft concrete all the way around..and wood panels feont and back of garage that peak at 14 ft..i need to prep (scrap , clan ect) prime then paint exterior..i know i need an exterior primer and paint that works with concrete..i an looking for help with the bidding price..just a ballbark estimate if you guys can help me out. So I have an odd question. Ive been painting for years but this is the first time I have run into this issue. I have a client who has some concrete block walls in his basement he wants painted. The issue is that the walls do not complete a room so there is no way to calculate the square footage as a footprint. However the total wall length is 140 feet by 8 feet high. So how do i calculate labor since I can’t determine the square footage of a room? Do I use the square footage of the surface area of the walls at 140 feet long X 8 feet high? And if so what do I charge per square foot for the surface area? Again this only labor, the client will be buying the block sealer/primer and paint. For a reference, if I was painting a 400 square foot room I would charge 2 dollars a square foot labor. So based off of what I charge using the square footage of the footprint of a room how do I determine what to charge when I cant calculate by the footprint of the room?
